FG Bailout Fund: Governor Al-Makura To Spend N8bn On Pension And Gratuity-Accountant General

Almakura-300x336Muhammed Daddau Musa, the Accountant General of Nasarawa state has affirmed that the sum of N8bn is needed to pay the backlog of pension and gratuity to retired civil servants in the state if the Federal Government bailout fund is released to the state.

Musa gave the indication in an exclusive interview with Journalists as he added that that the topmost on the agenda of the state Government is to clear the outstanding backlog of pension and gratuity.

Speaking on the inability of the local government Areas to pay prompt salary to Local Government workers, the Accountant General blamed the past regime of accommodating ghost workers in the service, as he adding that over bloated workforce constitutes nuisance to Local Government Areas.

Calling for the retrospection of the system for optimum result he declared that N2.2bn goes to the third tier of Government, even as he declined comment on the speculated N1.7bn as wage bill of state civil servants in the state.
