The Governing Council, Management, Academic Board, Staff and Students of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri, Imo State, was on last Wednesday,4th March, 2020, successfully admitted 3000 National Diploma, ND,students and 2000 Higher National Diploma,HND students respectively during the Polytechnic’s 42nd Matriculation Ceremony.
The academic breakthroughs of the institution was recorded under the headship of the Rector,Rev.Dr.Engr.Micheal Chidiebere Arimanwa, MNSE, who told the general public through the media that the institution under his watch in lessthan two years has eminently recorded so many academic excellence which according to the Rector, the Polytechnic is widely known for.
Rector Arimanwa,in his address presented on the occasion of the Polytechnic’s 42nd Matri, expressed satisfaction and congratulated the newly admitted young undergraduates into the school.
He also received them into what he described as an academic environment of excellent, even as he charged them to take their studies very serious, so as to make the society proud at the end of their educational engagements.
Dr.Arimanwa,however charged a template for success and told the newly admitted scholars to know their primary aims and objective of coming into the Polytechnic, even as he admonished them to be found worthy in character and learning.
He described the school as the best Polytechnic in Nigeria and in West Africa, where he disclosed that they have facilities for the employments of the students,and as he revealed the readiness of the Polytechnic’s Library for them, and the enabled Entreprenurial/Skill Acquisation Center built, Synergy with the Host Communities and Landlords around the school areas.
He pointed out on the effective security, medical services, smart campus in the Polytechnic which enables the students to be very vast in ICT.
He therefore frowned against cultism, indecent dressing and all social vices, even as he threatened to expel any student apprehended in any ugly and unlawful acts.
