Federal Government Gives Lifeline To University Graduates In Nasarawa State

University graduates in Nasarawa state under the federal government “Graduate Intership Scheme has given Lifeline to Scores in the state.

The Director of the scheme, Dennis Chukwu said the initiative is being repositioned to absorb youth in th labour market for self reliant.

While declaring the workshop open in Lafia Dennis affirmed that the three day training for University graduates was to prepare them ahead of the challenges in the labour market.

He said the GIS organized by the federal ministry of finance was centered on career development and entrepreneurship skills training for interns in Nasarawa state.

Also speaking, a staff of the finance ministry, Esther Gandu Tanko opined that youths will be discharged to interested organisations and institutions in which the federal government will be paying them stipend for one year.

Addressing the interns, a facilitator, Rachael Adegbe reiterated that the programme since its commencement has made some youth to become employers of labour instead of Job seekers.

It was observed that the programme which is meant for graduates from Nasarawa state has of mostly graduates from neighbouring states.
