As Miscreants Allegedly Assaulted the Speaker On Sallah Day

The Plateau House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon Peter Azi has been threatened with an impeachment notice by aggrieved Lawmakers of both PDP and APC integrity group.

The House also suspended their day sitting, to meet in an undisclosed place due to alleged fear of impeachment saga filtering the air within the Assembly Complex as traders and market women opposite the Assembly complex building has been entertaining consumers with the news of the impeachment notice.

Universalreporters247.com gathered that  group of traders who came to the Assembly Complex to witness the day controversial impeachment news  were disappointed that the House is empty with no single member present.

Some members of the House of Assembly who spoke to our correspondent under condition of anonymity revealed that Rt Hon Speaker Peter Azi didn’t deserve to occupy such an elevated position.

Information available to this medium disclosed that the members have been without salary for six months suffering and are already facing serious untold hardship.

Universalreporters247.com learnt that that the APC has 13 members while PDP has 10 and one election of Langtang South is still pending in the court, as further investigation by this medium revealed that the lawmakers are not happy with the leadership style of the Speaker as his body language and structure doesn’t possess the quality required of a Speaker.

This development has led the members to decide on the next line of action which is the current move for impeachment.

A high ranking member of the 8th Assembly expressed displeasure with the activities of the Hon. Azi led assembly which he said, is gradually leading to doom, as gathered the said Lawmaker is the arrow head of the move for the impeachment of the Speaker.

The latest development has made the Speaker and his supporters to order for an indefinite suspension of the House activities.

However, a visit to the Assembly complex showed that both staff of the Assembly and Journalists that covers the Assembly was seen hanging around as there was no single member at the House.

In related development, universalreporters247.com learnt that a mild drama ensued on the street of Dogo Agogo where some group of miscreant suspected to be Muslims on Sallah Day attacked the Speaker’s convoy by vandalizing his vehicles and forcing him out of the car.

The aggrieved youths on that Sallah day celebration barricaded the road after sighting the Speaker official car at Angwan Rogo area of Jos North Local Government Council.

The miscreants complained that the Speaker is just enjoying the House of Assembly money alone without remembering the lives of the less privileged ones in the society.

“We are not happy with you because you refused to send us the Sallah gift, so we advise   you to stop disturbing our peace’.

Effort to reach the Speaker proved abortive as several calls made to his phone were not available as at press time.
