Exposed: 50 Year Old District Head Involved In Armed Robbery and Gun Running Arrested By Police In Nasarawa

It was an end of the road for a fifty year old district head in Nasarawa state, Mohammed Agabi who is now presently cooling his feet at the state police command for alleged gun running and also possession of deadly weapons.

The state police command while parading the district head said the suspect was arrested at his residence, behind the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lafia, which is under construction alongside four members of his gang when he was trying to sell guns and others items in his possession.

Lawal Shehu, the State Commissioner of Police said, the prime suspect, Agabi was also fingered for involvement in robbery activities, It was gathered that the monarch had been into armed robbery business for quite a long time.

The district head of Bukan-sidi, it was gathered supply guns to his colleagues in crime who were said to have been terrorizing the people of the areas, 132 round of 7.6mm live ammunition meant for AK 47 rifle, one police bullet proof jacket, two axes and one cutlass with assorted charms were recovered from them.

“On the 9th June, 2016 at about 0800hrs, detectives from SARS Nasarawa state command acting on information arrested the armed robbery suspects in the state,”.

He, however, added that the command had also arrested four armed robbers, who were students of Nasarawa state university, Keffi for allegedly breaking into the apartments of one, Mr. Tukur Haba and one Mr. Musa Kashim, who reported the incident to the police Division on June 6,  2016 in Keffi local government area of the state.

Those arrested were Jude Zwindila, who has been running a National Diploma 11 programme at the department of Social Science of the institution before nemesis caught up with him.

Others students were: Elisha Godwin, Francis Benjamin, Mike Chison and Olaleye Oladapo all at the age bracket of 20 year-old.

Items recovered from them according to the police commissioner were two empty shells of ammunition, one red shirt, two face caps and a cardigan.

Shehu also disclosed that on the June 8, 2016 at about 0900hrs, detective from SARS acted on a tip off and arrested a notorious car snatcher, Mr. Joseph Okon with one Golf 3 S/Wagon with registration number LFA 247ZX green in colour and a Toyota RAV 4 Jeep black in colour, suspecting to have been stolen from their rightful owners.

He said the police in conjunction with the Fulani Vigilante group at Wamba arrested one Muhammed Musa of Wulaji village Wamba local government area of the state on June 6, 2016 suspected to be a one man gang, who has been terrorizing citizens in the areas.

Items recovered from the suspect were one den gun and a cutlass. The police boss further revealed that the command received a report from one Alhaji Aliyu of U/Lele and Aliyu Ibrahim of Bauchi street, T/Gwandara that their children Zainab Aliyu and Rahina Yakubu both JSS 3 student of Science School, Lafia were abducted by one Aliyu Zanwa and Musa Sarki on June 7, 2016, who are still at large and had unlawful carnal knowledge of them.

Shehu stated that the command also received a report from one Yakubu Abdullahi of behind National Supply that he noticed an internal injury on the private part of his daughter Mujahida Yakubu a 10 year-old was defiled by Kehinde Adedeji of Ungwan NEPA, Keffi.

“All cases are under investigation at SCIID, Lafia,” he added. He warned parents in the state to always monitor their wards in and out of their homes in order to curtail the rising cases of rape and other related offences,” Shehu warned.
