A People Democratic Party Chieftain, the Former Speaker Rt .Hon.Istifanus Mwansat has said Nigerians have experienced the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and they have nothing to offer to them. He however said that the only alternative lies on PDP to rescue Nigerians from mismanagement and bad governance to end insecurity, hunger, and incompetent leadership.
Speaking to our correspondent at state High Court premises in Jos, Hon Mwansat expressed dismay with the infrastructural decay, kidnapping, banditry, and farmers/herders clashes facing the nation.
Mwansat lamented that the Plateau hope for the future lies within the PDP; And as a matter of fact, the chaos going on in the country is proof that the APC government has failed Nigerians.
He disclosed that he is not in a hurry to expose his ambition to contest for any position but to ensure that PDP is more united, strong, and focus on a purposeful leadership that can attain power come 2023.
According to him, the unity within the PDP is sacrosanct because our aspiration must be under a platform but where there is an absence of a platform then there is bound to be a total disappointment.
He explained further explained that serious efforts have been going on to reconcile all aggrieved members of the PDP to put aside their differences and work as one family or else, said he, ‘we are going nowhere;-we need to unite to build a stronger party.
Hon Istifanus stressed that the change effected on the serving chiefs won’t bring anything to the fight against insecurity in the country because all of them that Mr. President appointed participated actively in the theatre operations so my contrary view is that I don’t see them contributing to end the insurgency.
He, however, cautioned that they’ve never been good team players at a point even when not in this position all of them failed to bring their experience to bear in the fight against insurgency.
Mwansat maintained that the federal government should have brought in fresh, young-and-competent officers with high expectations to contribute but for the fact that they were unable to advise I don’t think they have something to offer and there is no actual difference between them and the outgone service chiefs.
He added that we had-anticipated- to-see some young fresh idealistic-leaders replacing the former serving officers, a leader who is strong, having intellectual capacity. Seeing this, we can only pray for them to succeed as Nigerians.
