Ex-Plateau Deputy Speaker, Baba Hassan Frowns At Reports Of Threat To Security In Jos North LGA For Not Holding Election
The Member representing Jos North Norh Constituency in Plateau’s House of Assembly and former Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Ibrahim Baba – Hassan has frowned at security reports that stop the conduct Local Government elections on the 3rd October ,2018 council poll .
He raised alarm over security report saying, the order for v stopping of Plateau state Independent Electoral Commission, PLASIEC, in Jos North local government area of Plateau state.
In an interview with our correspondent at the Plateau Hotel on Thursday, Baba-Hassan expressed dissatisfaction with the manner election was suspended in spite of relative peace being enjoyed in the council.
He maintained that the people of Jos North have all agreed to leave together with the coming of Governor Simon Lalong regime ,he accommodate people of divert religious ,tribes were everyone is going about his or her normal business .
Hon Ibrahim Baba-Hassan says, Jos North remain the most peaceful place to live now so suspension of election really spell doom to a democratic society of our were some session would be disenfranchised.
He condemned a situation where we have PDP and APC candidates are between Muslim and Christian who can easily spark crises after the election is peaceful conducted.
The fourth time Member of Jos North-North constituency promised to consolidate on his campaign of providing committed and transparent leadership to Muslim and Christian in the council, he added.
“I don’t want to go for election but the people of my constituency insisted I should go for the election, however, I am not so desperate again anyone who emerged as the sole candidate I am ready and willing to work him, Baba-Hassan says.
The former Deputy Speaker charged delegates to be transparent towards conducting free and fair election that can be acceptable to the entire people of Plateau citizens.
He urged Governor Simon Lalong and President Muhammadu Buhari to improve the welfare of Nigerian as he commended them for tremendous achievement recorded in few years and improving the economy of the country.
