The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has vacated the Government House in Port Harcourt along with his family and security details.
Fubara reportedly left the seat of power on Wednesday morning, according to a close source who requested anonymity as he was not authorized to speak on the issue.
Meanwhile, security at the Government House remains sparse, although the two Armoured Personnel Carriers seen on Tuesday night in front of the premises are still stationed there with a handful of security operatives.
As of the time of filing this report, normal activities were ongoing in Port Harcourt and its environs.
Meanwhile, the administrator appointed by President Bola Tinubu to oversee the state for the next six months, Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas (retd.), had yet to assume office as of 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday.
He was in Abuja where he was sworn in by President Bola Tinubu and fully briefed on his assignment in Rivers State.
There were however reports that the Government House was being prepared to receive him.
About 15 soldiers were seen on the premises ahead of his expected arrival.
