Elites Corps Takes On Awareness Campaign, Supports Democracy In Nigeria, Kicks Against Crime, Corruption

The entire operatives of Elites Community Initiative Corps of Nigeria ( Elites Corps),was on last Wednesday,5th June 2019,took a peaceful procession to all the major roads and streets in Owerri,campaigning for the collective support of democracy in Nigeria and also seriously expressed the Corps mandate against all forms of crime and corruption in the country.
Speaking to newsmen,the Commander General of Elites Corps,Mr.Bernard Opara,described the organization as a voluntary personnels who are poised to salvage the nation from all kinds of ugly activities that are unwanted in the society.
According to Mr.Opara,”Elites Corps is a voluntary security agency in Nigeria fully authorized by the Presidency and licensed by the Federal Govt.of Nigeria to fight against crime in the land.
He expressively frowned the height of crime,corruption and social vices amongst many Nigerians,but warned all and sundry to desist from every kinds of crime.
The Elites Corps Commander General,Mr.Opara,while speaking,said they are willingly in the fight against insurgency,communal crisis,crime and corruptible gestures in Nigeria by performing the following functions amongst other things,such as:”Report against any individual or group of individuals that is suspected to have committed any form of criminality to the appropriate authorities through every means of communication. He described rigging of election as a crime and called on the masses to shun it. He commended democracy even as he described it as govt.of the people made for the citizens to enjoy it”.
The Corp Commander General,therefore congratulated the President of Nigeria,Mohammadu Buhari and the Imo State Governor,Hon.Emeka Ihedioha,and all the democratically elected Senators,House of Reps.,House of Assembly members-elect in the Nigeria and in Imo State,even as he wishes them a successful terms of office.
The Commander General,however disclosed that the recruitment of officers into Elites Community Initiative Corps of Nigeria is still ongoing,as he appealed to citizens of the country,especially those in Imo State to go and obtain their registration form at the Mummy Market,Police Shell Camp Owerri,near the Mosque.
Mr.Opara,moreso encouraged those interested to join to apply as they would be posted to for job. He revealed the already the Corps have over 2000 officers from across the 36 States of the Federation.
“If you do not have job. Maybe as retired officers but not tired,business men,women,civil servants,community leaders are qualified to be members as you would be issued with an identity cards and uniforms”,Opara submitted.
Adding her voice,the Chief Superintendent Officer,Andorbe Glory,who is also the National Administrative/Financial Secretary,called on Nigerians mostly the Imo people to support democracy and obey the laws of the land by joining hands in the combat against crime and corruption.
Also in his own words,Mr.Peter Opara,an officer with the Elites Corps,expressively charged the people to support democracy and key in towards the fight against crime.
