  • His chances of winning the election now is slim

Following the extension of this year’s general election from February to 28/03/2015 and 14/4/2015, panic and fear is said to have grip Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, as his chances of winning the governorship election is slim.
According to a close source, the election postponement is the last straw that broke the camel back, a shift which will adversely affect the second term bid of Al-Makura, the reason being that as the extension comes up, the one year tenure of the elected council chairmen in the state will come to an end even before the commencement of the election on March 28th and April 11th.
According to the source, the governor is in hysteria as the tenure of the council chairmen elapse on the 24/3/2015, that is before the 28/3/2015 and 11/4/2015 general elections, the present development is a nightmare to Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura whose political fortress lacks solid foundation.
It was reliably gathered that the council chairmen are running helter skelter to ensure that their tenure was elongated with additional one year, as some analysts continued  to asked ,Can this quest for tenure extension sees the light of the day ?,As the issue on ground was purely a constitutional matter.
The source further said that, some of the Local Government chairmen and top government functionaries have since signed a pact with the gubernatorial candidate of the opposition party, The People’s Democratic Party; according to Pundits the PDP which is desperate to reclaim her mandate had hand-picked APC heavyweight that are ready to work relentlessly for the success of the party.
Not less than thirty days to the expiration of their tenure some council chairmen are not able to settle workers salary, This potent serious peril to the Shendam road government House Landlord,  some of the embattled Local Government chairmen has since went to court to seek for the extension of their one year term of office
The one year tenure of office was approved by the state House of Assembly, Which is the arm of government vested with the decision to approve tenure of elected chairmen, The imbroglio between the executive and legislative arm of government would not allow for the appointment of Transitional Management Committee chairmen, This potent great peril to the re-election bid of the incumbent governor.
Our feelers unfolded that majority of the Director Personnel Management, DPMs are PDP followers and would succumb to work with the state governor, It was revealed that even if the DPM’s are subservient to the APC there chances of winning may be blink due to absence of money, the trouble with governor Al-Makura started few months after he took over the mantle of leadership of the state as he is known to starve Ministries, Parastatals, Agencies and Board of funds and this has caused them to be in a serious financial crisis, as  this would also affect the governor’s chances of returning.

Is no longer news that majority of the commissioners are not with the governor, the absence of some cabinet members in the ongoing campaign rally state-wide is a clear testimony that the commissioners are not helping the situation, going by the extension, the tenure of council chairmen would expires four days before the commencement of elections which is schedule for 28/3/2015.
