Education Commissioner, Onwuliri Pays  Working Visit To IMSUBEB

The Commissioner for Education in Imo State, Prof.Mrs.Viola Onwuliri,on Monday,Nov.4th 2019,paid a one day working visit to the management-staff of the Imo State Universal Basic Education Board,IMSUBEB,under the headship of the Executive Chairman, Prof.Obioma Iheduru.

 

The Education Commissioner,Prof. Viola, who spoke to the staff of IMSUBEB after a close door meeting with the Executive Chairman, Prof.Iheduru,expressed satisfaction to witness height of successes so far recorded in the state by the IMSUBEB leadership,even as he expressed optimism that the Ministry of Education  in the state.

 

Prof.Onwuliri, while speaking assured effective working synergy with the Ministry and the IMSUBEB so as to enhance the educational standard in Imo State.

 

“What we saw in Imo state is a very destroyed education system under the past govt.of Gov. Rochas Okorocha. His acclaimed Rescue Mission administration sent Imo State into a big mess in all sectors”, Onwuliri alleged.

 

She however threatened to shut down some private schools in Imo State over alleged unqualified teachers, even as she vowed to strengthen the academic standard of all the public schools in the state.

 

The Commissioner therefore reassured Imolites that her Ministry under the Rebuild Mission led govt. of the Imo State Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha,would never ever fail nor disappoint the people of the State.

 

To the staff of IMSUBEB,she warned ” do not think of collecting bribe in the cause of your duties especially now employment is ongoing. Discharge your duties with dignity, fear of God, Avoid corrupt practices, be contented with your salaries,your job is far much very important. Never attract causes to your own children but be sincere in all you do as civil servants”,she demolished.

 

Prof.Viola, more so, informed the potential civil servants to get ready and prepared to come and defend their curriculum vitea and their credentials,noted that only qualified persons who applied shall gain employed.

 

She also harped on the needs to make Igbo language a compulsory subject in the pre-primary,primary and secondary schools.

 

Meanwhile, the IMSUBEB Executive Chairman,Prof.Obioma Iheduru, thanked the Commissioner for her kind gesture through her visit,which he described as a welcome development.

 

He commended the Commissioner for her policies mostly in the area of sanity,even as he also described education as the basis towards effective educational/academic foundation for all.

 

The IMSUBEB Boss stated that the Board in the state under his shall proffer solutions to all problems mostly in the promotion of the education standard, but called on the Governor to release fund which he described as one of the major challenges facing IMSUBEB.

 

Some of the persons in attendance who spoke includes,the Board Secretary, Hon.Barr.Kingsley Nzemechi,in his words,promised to make Imo State proud.
