A philanthropist and former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs ,Plateau State ,Hon Dayyaibu Garga has sponsored at least 53 students in College of Education Kangere of Bauchi state with a call on them to emulate the same gesture in the society.
The graduands in their separate interview commended the commissioner, Hon,Dr ,Dayyabu Garga for giving them the opportunity to transform themselves into better citizens .
Aisha Abdullahi said ,” I can’t hide my feelings as you can see we graduates with various certificates to help ourselves and our parents who are very poor and can’t afford to pay for our education but today we are grateful to Allah that Dr Garga came to our rescue “.
We are all thankful to Allah ,we are going replicate this same gesture and ensure that the world know what is happening to communities in Kanam LGA of Plateau state that a caring Nigerian who developed love for the children of less privilege ones to acquire western education.
The students Union President Government, SUG, Comrade Umar Sadiq Babangida said, as the student body they are thankful to God for given them the opportunity to express themselves amongst the educated people in Nigeria.
He said one of the biggest problems associated with Adamu Tafawa Balewa college Kangere ,Bauchi state is the challenges of accommodation ,transportation ,hostels ,recreational centre ,poor drainage system especially when we experience heavy downpour during the raining season .
According to him, most the students are leaving off -town so they traveled kilometers before arriving to the college which make it difficult for learning.
Babangida employed the state government under the leadership of Sen Bala Mohammed to come to their rescue by building more classrooms and hostel accommodation to east transportation and avoid accident involving students.
Mohammed Mustapha Saidu, the HOD Hausa studies also added his voice that the college need functional educational training so a lot need to be to done to improve the wellbeing of the college.
He said the college Kangere is in fired need of modern facilities considering the yearning for education to improve and upgrade the living standard of the society.
Saidu charges the graduating set to see themselves as ambassador of the college and to also impact the knowledge they acquire to the betterment of the people as leaders.
