Following the conclusion of the Nasarawa state local council elections. The APC led government in Nasarawa state is finding it difficult to come to terms with the outcome of the polls where despite its manipulations, the PDP still gave a very good run for their money.
MAKU SUPPORT GROUP (MSG) an agitation for a Labaran Maku candidature in the 2015 elections attention was drawn to a malignant publication by LEADERSHIP NEWSPAPER of 24th March where Labaran Maku was alleged to have been involved in electoral malpractice.
This allegation is unfounded and aimed at maligning the respectable and responsible person of the hon. minister who is a true democrat, a gentleman and a staunch advocate for the rule of law.
Labaran Maku as the PDP leader in the state has been at the fore in the campaign for a free ,fair, credible and violence free elections. This allegation is not only spurious but a barefaced lie.
We condemn the falsehood been peddled by the APC which is their stock in trade through their mouth piece the leadership newspaper. We advice the Government and the NASIEC to be cautious and not rig the outstanding undeclared results of the local councils they have criminally tagged as inconclusive.
