The former Zaar Development Association (ZDA) President Barr. Bala Istifanus Gambar has on Wednesday called for unity among his kinsmen in order to foster development in Zaar land.
Bala who made the call while speaking to newsmen in his resident in GRA urged all Zaar sons and daughters to unite themselves with a view to bringing back the lost glory of the area in order to attain the much needed development in the community.
The former ZDA President said it is unpleasant to him and also in the whole history of Zaar land that brothers are rising against one another which has not been witnessed in the entire history of Zaar nation.
“There was nothing like division among us but unfortunately this time around, it has escalated to something different which is very bad”, he lamented.
“When I was president of the Association, we have never witnessed a situation like the one that is arising in to our community” said Bala.
Barr Bala called on Zaar brothers and sisters to come together for the betterment of the community.
“I am urging Zaar sons and daughters to do away with the issue of personal interest. Whether you belong to this village or that family, let just come together and unite our area for common good”, he pleaded.
Bala blamed some politicians and other prominent people in Zaar land for not creating awareness to the youth on what to focus on just because of personal interest.
“This is not how it is supposed to be, let us be like brothers and sisters in Christ”, he said.
“Years ago, in Bauchi if you are Basayi man, whatever you do something amazing, some people will begin jokingly question you by saying, “are you more than Baba Peter Gonto? So why not now?
The former ZDA President while sympathizing with those who lost their beloved ones during a peaceful protest that later turned violent recently in Bogoro also commiserated with others who had their property destroyed.
“The only thing we can do to bring back our community into unity is that we must allow all the groups in Zaar land to come together and we should not allow outsider to intervene in to our issues”, he said.
“Let us come together not as you are my brother, friend or colleague, but let us come brutally and frankly to discuss what is really happening in our community”, Bala added.
Bala Gambar said coming together as one indivisible entity is the only way to bringing back the lost glory of Zaar nation as it was in the Baba Gonto era.
“Anything less than that, we can only be driving far away”, the former ZDA President said.
