There seems to be confusion in the camp of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Anambra chapter following the intended imposition of the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as the governorship candidate for the party come November 16th, 2013 gubernatorial election.
As it is his alleged imposition is indeed tearing the party apart, according to a statement from group known as “Concerned APGA Members” Forum described the move by the party as a slap on the face of the late spiritual head of the party, the late Ikemba Odumegwu Ojukwu.

In the statement titled; We Say No To Imposition Of Usurpers On Anambra APGA, the group said; “We, the concerned youth members and women of our great All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) are in shock over the maneuvering of a tiny percentage of the national executive to impose Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, a non-member of the party as the anointed gubernatorial candidate for the November 16th, 2013 election in Anambra state. Suffice it to underline that Prof. Soludo is qualified to contest any election in Nigeria, but the idea of imposing a man who is a thoroughbred PDP member is a set back on the democratic development of our nation and akin to pissing on the grave of our  revered leader and spiritual force behind APGA, late Ikemba Odumegwu Ojukwu. Has the National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh considered the path he and a few cohorts in Anambra state APGA are leading the party to?”
Speaking further the group said; “We condemn any imposition of Prof. Soludo at the expense of the hard working and tireless party members that have been sustaining the party since its formation. What about the commitment made by Gov. Peter Obi to handover to Anambra north in 2014? Was that sacrificed simply to pave the way for a man who have never contributed a dime and time to the sustenance of our great party?”
The Group also said that they urge Chief Victor Umeh and a few others to answer the following questions: .Is Anambra APGA lacking in gubernatorial materials to warrant the planned imposition of Prof. Soludo on us?; Was the outgoing Gov. Peter Obi a household name in Anambra politics before he was elected as governor?; How will the toiling ranks and files of the party campaign for a stranger in their party?; Will this imposition of Prof. Soludo not consolidate the perception that APGA as presently constituted is nothing but a vassal of the PDP?; What message will this unholy imposition send to APGA members in other south eastern states?; Is there any truth in the assertion that a whopping sum of N2bn has been delivered to APGA leaders in Anambra state?;Did the leadership of APGA not learn a lesson from the Rochas Okorocha experience?
According to the group; “We care and cherish the legacy of Ikemba Ojukwu and will resist any action that will erode his stewardship for Ndigb when he was alive. The National Chairman and other stakeholders in Anambra still have the opportunity to redeem themselves and the party before it is too late.”
