Defending PMB’s Integrity: An Appeal To APC Reconciliation Committee

As the ruling All Progressives Congress inaugurates its reconciliation committee to intercede and broker peace among aggrieved members of the party embroiled in crisis in the wake of the recently held party primaries, all eyes are on the APC now regarded as most popular and credible political party, solely by virtue of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tested and proven doctrine of integrity.

This valuable reputation is a scarce commodity and is not easy to imbibe, nor cultivate, especially in a country like Nigeria, which has been under moral siege, since the advent of the Peoples Democratic Party, which pervasive culture of impunity and other forms of electoral malfeasance have become the most popular political culture in vogue, in Nigeria, until the introduction of President Buhari’s Positive Change Doctrine in the country, in 2015.

With history as a reference record for authentic testimony and evidential verification of facts, it’s safe to boldly state here, that, virtually, all the politicians in Nigeria were the products of the infamous PDP School of Scandals and undemocratic policies.

Given this unfortunate  situational circumstances, it is not difficult to locate the reasons for the negatively unfortunate outcomes of the APC Primaries, for which cause members of the reconciliation committee are being appointed to undertake , I hope, a thorough mediatory role in facts finding assignment, to investigate the  remote and immediate cause, or causes, that gave rise to the ugly  political scenarios that, have become the visibly stigmatized references by the opponents of positive change to inveigh PMB’s integrity, which is the scarce commodity that separated APC, from the despondent mentality of  PDP’s pervasive inclinations of  abuse of  trust and entrenched culture of impunity, which its  new converts in APC still promote,  which negates against the PMB integrity charter.

In view of these moral embracement, that, whichever ways you try to look at them, are the results of PDP cultivated hangover impunity of godfatherisms and other dysfunctionally bogus   complex and imperial authority by many of the governors and other party apparatchiks, who, everybody in the world knows, are the ones who undermine the President. Through the APC weak party structure, by taking too much advantage of the supervisory flaws and deficiencies in the party’s structure, which gives them too much leverage to exhibit their worst and undo all the positive change policies, as if they, not the people, own the party.

In this regard, the committee must ensure fair hearing to all sides in the disputes and all the guilty suspects to be made to confess their unholy roles.

Imagine some of the cases in Nasarawa State, such as Kokona East Constituency, where  elections did not take place, but a hardened anti Buhari’s name was returned to INEC as a winner.

Or the cases of Nasarawa North Senatorial contest, in which, Dr. Dominic Bako’s name was deliberately and sabotagiously removed at the APC National Headquarters, by notorious gangster, now appointed Deputy Chairman. North Central, nay, courtesy of Governor Almakura’s unilateral ownership of the party, which favoured unmerited characters, as long as they are beholden to him, as their godfather, even when more dedicated party loyalists and pro-Buhari sojourners abound, amongst all tribal and religious groups in the state.

Let it be reiterated here, that, Nigerians want the committee to investigate some of these revelations and authenticate the testimony, or otherwise, of these allegations, because, in Nasarawa State, fear has griped the citizens, like in Medieval times, when Galileo Galilee, Joan of Arc and the rest of the voices of truth and justice were guillotined, as a sacrifice for the denial of justice to innocent victims of political execesses.

Le it be said here, that, each state has its own parculiarities, so, there are some governors who may be fully integrity compliant.

In conclusion, and when all the chips are down, the primary goal of PMB’s positive change doctrine is the total sensitization, as well as sanitization of our decadent political culture, which seems to have, for years, become a generic brand commodity, characterised by an immunity reinforced impunity,  which all the political players in all the parties in the country regard as their lifeline insurance cover.

The truth, is that, without exception, President Buhari’s positive change mantra must be recognized and accepted as a national crusade, like WAI-C  campaigns advocacy, irrespective of political differences which the APC leaders must try to reinforce as the brand owners, in order to claim the bragging rights for being the historic owners, as well as custodians of positive political change in Nigeria, during PMB’s era of democratic reforms crusade.
