Following the unabated internal wrangling about tearing the opposition political party, the People’s Democratic Party at the centre, it has widespread to Nasarawa State as Hon. Mohammed Sarki Tanko (Danmajen Azara) declared himself as the new state chairman of the party.
Sarki Tanko in an interview with universalreporters247 said he emerged as the new state chairman of the PDP, calling on members of the party to remain calm and resolute.
When asked whether there was litigation over the election that brought Hon. Orogu as the state chairman.
“As Journalists you are not aware of the happenings at the national level? I remain the substantive chairman of the party.
The Publicity Secretary of the party, Umar Bwalla in his reaction described the announcement as baseless, stating that Mohammed Sarki Tanko has since been expelled from the party for indulging in anti-party activities for over one year.
“He Is not member of our party, for that how can he be our chairman, though i don’t want to join issues with them but i promised we will get back to you after the verdict of the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
It would be recalled that Hon. Mohammed Sarki Tanko at a press conference in Lafia announced his defection from the PDP twenty four hours before he was expelled for involvement in anti-party activities.
Reliable information revealed that Sarki did not contest for the chairmanship election following the position of the party to zone the chairmanship slut to Obi Local Government.
Mohammed Sarki Tanko was disqualified with the arrangement being an indigent of Awe Local Government given room to Bar Yakubu who contested with the incumbent chairman, Hon Francis Orogu who refused to step down.
Only time shall tell who will emerged the national chairman of the party by Wednesday.
