Ahead of the Proposed CPC convention slated for May 11, the FCT High Court under Justice Ashi yesterday granted the Senator Hanga faction of the CPC’s request not to allow the Tony Momoh’s faction hold their proposed convention on the 11th of May 2013 at Nasarawa until the determination of all their suits.
Ruling on an Expa’tate motion brought before His Lordship by counsel to Senator Hanga faction of the party,  urged  the court to abridge the date for the hearing of the faction’s interlocutory injunction seeking to restrain the Tony Momoh led faction from parading themselves as the leadership of the party until the substantive suit is determined, the Judge ruled in our favour in totality, including putting the proposed convention on hold but insisted that court order and the motion must be published in 2 national dailies.

He therefore abridged the new date for hearing on the case from the 22nd of May 2013, the earlier adjourned date for the case; to the 14th of May 2013.The Judge’s insistence for the publication in 2 national dailies may be in connection with the current cleansing of the judicial system in the country but we will abide by his order and do the publication.
By this development the proposed convention earlier slated for the 11th of May by the Tony Momoh CPC has been put on hold by the court order until hearing on the interlocutory injunction takes place on the 14th of May 2013.
In another development, Engr Buba Galidima has written a letter to the Utako police station claiming that the original certificate which the Senator Hanga’s faction of the party claimed they are in possession has got missing from their archives. He therefore requested the police to give them covering notes which will enable them apply for a certified trough copy from INEC.
The Hanga’s faction said that the above request by Galadima is absolute criminality as a result of desperation even when it was deposed in all their affidavits that the original certificate is with them. The Hanga’s faction also asked INEC to fall to such gimmick.
Meanwhile the Hanga’s faction in a statement, said: “You may recall that Engr. Rotimi Fashakin in one of his recent press releases claimed that the original certificate is with Gen. Buhari. How come it suddenly got missing from their archives? We are still waiting to see how many more lies they will tell to cover up all their lies.”
“We are not against the merger although we are not carried along by those championing the cause; we are determined to claim our party and ensure that it is well repositioned for all subsequent forthcoming elections, including the Anambra state governorship election in September 2013. Our leadership also intends to visit the national assembly leadership to plead with them and also remind them of the damage they are doing to the image of our democracy by not readmitting our national assembly members from Katsina state who were returned by the court”.
