COPDEM National Chairman Reechoes Movement Resolves To Building The Winning Coalition For Nigeria In 2027

The Copdem National Chairman, Prince Rwang Pam Jnr, yesterday at the coalition’s NEC meeting and strategy conference for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) said they are resolved to building the winning coalition for Nigeria in 2027.

The National Chairman stated this at COPDEM NEC meeting and strategy conference for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) held in Abuja on Tuesday.

Speaking to the  delegates, members of the African Democratic Congress and representatives of civil society he said the gathering represents a defining moment in Nigeria’s political history. Our nation faces enormous economic pressure, deep insecurity, and a growing decline in public trust in political leadership.

“For many years, political discourse has been dominated by protest politics—criticising what is wrong with government. However today, our responsibility is greater.

“The question before us is not merely how to oppose power.

“The question before us is how to govern Nigeria better, providing a visible, credible, and sustainable people-centered alternative for our country.

“That is why our theme today is:

“From Opposition to Government: Building the Winning Coalition for Nigeria 2027.”

He said; “This conference represents a shift in thinking. We are no longer simply discussing dissatisfaction with the status quo. We are designing a credible pathway to national leadership.

Our deliberations today will therefore focus on several strategic areas that will determine whether a political movement can truly transition from opposition into government.”

“First, we will examine the electoral mathematics that shape national outcomes in Nigeria. Winning elections in a diverse federation such as ours requires a clear understanding of voter behaviour, regional dynamics, and the coalition pathways that can produce a national majority.

“Second, we will engage deeply on messaging and narrative. At this moment of economic hardship and insecurity, Nigerians are searching for leadership that understands their struggles and can communicate a clear plan for national recovery. Our message must speak to the everyday realities of citizens—economic survival, security reform, youth opportunity, and the restoration of integrity in governance.

“Third, we will examine candidate selection strategy. The strength of any political platform ultimately rests on the credibility, competence, and national appeal of the individuals who represent it. Nigeria deserves leaders who are capable of uniting our diverse nation and inspiring confidence across regions, generations, and communities.

“Fourth, we will discuss the urgent task of party structure reform. A political party that intends to govern must be strong from the ward level to the national level. It must be organised, disciplined in its structures, transparent in its internal processes, and capable of mobilising citizens across the country.

“We must therefore continue strengthening the institutional foundations of the African Democratic Congress so that it becomes not just an opposition platform, but a national governing alternative.
