The Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM) will convene a National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting and Strategy Conference in partnership with members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, at Dannic Hotel, No. 4 Oyo Street, Area 2, Abuja, Nigeria.
In a statement signed by Prince Rwang Pam Jnr COPDEM National Chairman he said “The high-level gathering will bring together political leaders, coalition partners, civil society actors, policy experts, and democratic reform advocates from across Nigeria to deliberate on a coordinated political strategy aimed at strengthening democratic governance and building a viable political coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Under the theme ”From Opposition to Government: Building the Winning Coalition for Nigeria 2027,” the conference will focus on developing a strategic roadmap for transforming opposition collaboration into a cohesive governing platform capable of delivering credible leadership and policy direction for Nigeria.
Discussions during the conference will address key priorities including coalition-building, electoral strategy, democratic reforms, zoning, youth and grassroots mobilisation, and strengthening institutional capacity within the African Democratic Congress as a platform for national renewal.
The NEC meeting will also review organisational matters within COPDEM, assess current political developments, and outline the coalition’s role in promoting democratic accountability and inclusive governance.
This strategy conference represents an important step toward forging a broad-based alliance committed to democratic values, political stability, and the socio-economic advancement of Nigeria.
