Continue Litigations Will Lead To Mass Defection Of PDP Supporters To Other Parties, Says Hon Afon

Two supporters of Sen. Ahmed Makarfi group have expressed their views on their unalloyed support to PDP leadership in Plateau State and National.
The member representing, Pengana constituency at the Plateau State House of Assembly ,Hon Ezekiel Afon has appealed to the People Democratic Party (PDP) at all level to kindly do away with litigation for the interest of the party and embrace internal democracy to resolve their differences out of court settlement.
He said; “as a PDP family all that is happening in the party, nobody is happy but is our desire that all of us as members of PDP are happy under one umbrella and on focus on the issue of the saga, the confusion are aspect that nobody likes.”
Afon stressed that: “our meeting today is for us to be in tune with issues happening at the national level, the brief meeting was organized by the PDP national legal adviser and other stakeholders of the party especially base in the judgment of the appeal court recently in Port Harcourt.”
“Our desire is to ensure that everybody is being taken along and be happy with the party, the emergence of Sheriff I am actually not happy about it because of the entire genesis on ground. As of now based on the briefing the Makarfi faction is desirous of taking this matter to court and I think papers has been arranged for that and everything has written and put in place to take the apex court and that is the reason that we just held a brief meeting this morning.
“It’s not personally my wish but based on the current fractionalization that is lingering in the party, it is a wish that I will actually come out with contrary opinions that is to say the Makarfi faction and that of Sheriff should have a round table discussion to ensure that this matter is resolve by taking the issue out of court of law.
Hon Afon warned that; “it may lead to defection of some of our members from PDP to APC but by the time we go through the past challenges of defection of our members with make it as a syndicate to ensure that they defect before 2019.
He advised that the party should avoid the issue of litigation or going to court; “what is going to be our faith from PDP on the plateau because the decision will take place in the next one month or two months on the plateau.
The member lamented that; “what is going to be the position of the law to PDP when the local government election is going to take place soon, so between the period of time what will be the position of our people which is expected that by now since 2019 is around the corner we supposed to come to terms with reality.
Hon cautioned that, due to the problem in the party it has become another issue but then to my own decision I will say is not the best way go to any supreme court.
“We should have insisted that the issue be resolve amicably to ensure that we solve the matter as urgent as possible because of the upcoming local government election and the general election of 2019 at the corner.
“We want to make sure that as a party we came together with focus to prepare for an election ahead, political activities will soon start and people will soon start printing posters, let us wait to hear the outcome of an appeal court because Sheriff court case had actually touched the heart of all our PDP members who were annoyed of the faction that was dragged to court” he added.
Hon member representing Jos South, Nyam Dareng faulted the judgment and confirmed the position to stand with Makarfi .
He stated that the judgment is purely part of Port Harcourt convention that was dragged to court, he stated that plateau state has no crack in PDP.
How can Sheriff organize election, got officials exco elected and now some are fanning the embers of political hatred to create unnecessary faction that doesn’t exist.
Dareng called on the secret sponsor of PDP faction group to come out of their hiding because; we belief that there is no camp, Sheriff can never be our leader and did not have followers.
