The Plateau State Commissioner for Health Dr Kamshak Kuden has expressed confidence that the team of Nigeria Regulatory Council of Nigeria in Nursing & Midwifery accreditation led by Pastor George Funsho Ipaye are professional members in the health sector with full experience to upgrade the standard based practice.
Represented by the Director, Ministry of Health in charge of Nursing, Mr. Yakubu he said government has earmarked fund to upgrade all the health institutions in the state to cater for the wellbeing of citizens and to provide conducive environment for learning.
He urged the college of Nursing, Midwifery to maintain the standard in admission of qualified professionals to produce graduates that can meet the yearning of the health standard by ensuring that the country improve on the current challenges.
The Team leader, Pastor George Funsho Ipaye assured the college of Nursing and Midwifery provost, Mr. Luka Dung Gaji of their determination to follow the due process of maintaining a well-established standard by calling on the staff to provide them with useful information about the challenges.
According to him ,there is no fear or favour from the Nursing council of Nigeria to anybody because they want to embark on strict measure to see that the health care delivery sector reflect on the quality and standard of the product of the college of Nursing Midwifery.
He stressed that the accreditation team are here to improve all the two college, we want to have experts in the Nursing, Midwifery to join and help to move the college forward, so we want the best for this institutions .
Ipaye explained further that the reason why the college of Nursing Midwifery council of Nigeria involved regulating both the academic and professional practice is to guide against major challenges of quacks infiltrating into the profession.
He called the college provost to work toward improving the established standard of Nursing and Midwifery practice delivery health need of vulnerable communities across the globe.
The Board Chairman of the college ,Dr. Jethron Akun commended Governor Simon Lalong for prompt released of funds for the renovation of classes and the maintenance of old edifice which was built since 1922 by missionaries .
He said the college trains younger ones to meet up with the day to day challenges of health need of our teaming populace both in urban and rural areas.
Meanwhile, the provost Mr Dung Gaji gave them his assurance of the tackling the challenges of moving the college forward because the students here in their final year examination maintain 100% standard which show clearly we are on top.
We are concerned with the product of the college, so we are ready partner with national leadership to reposition the schools and regulate the standard ,adding the Vom community has donated 37 hectares of land to be use for the college of Nursing Midwifery.
