College of Education Akwanga Gets (TETFUND)N103m Intervention For Staff Training In 2013-2014

The Provost, College of Education,Akwanga , Dr.Rebbeca Umar has disclosed that the total sum of N103,859,94.00 was released for the training of staff of the institution. The Provost stated this while debunking the rumor going round over the forceful deduction of commissions by the desk officer of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).
Umar dissociated herself from the inducement by staff of the institution before benefiting from TETFUND scholarship, She further affirmed that the College would not hesitate to expose all culprits involved. In a document made available to Journalists it revealed that a total sum of N95,457,170.00 was released for further studies abroad while the sum of N8m was for lecturers going for further studies within the country.
“TETFUND money is not a kind of money you will divert and go free,Everything they gave us is recorded, Infact every movement of TETFUND money is being monitored by the headquater, as I am talking to you now our desk officer made a refund of his money because he is not going to embark on foreign trip,” she added.
The provost while responding to the series of complaint raised by students over extortion of N500 for C.D plate, she promised to punish any lecturer found wanting,Calling on students to expose any lecturer caught extorting money for either textbook or C.D plates as illegal money.
“Student Union Government (SUG) president phone and complaint bitterly on some critical issues going on in College of Education,I will not allow some few people causing discomfort amongst students whatsoever.
She promised to work towards addressing the anomalies that are causing untold hardship to students, She added that further investigation from the state Teachers’ institute revealed that the desk officer of Tetfund at the college,Mr Benbella has come under intense criticism over the role he played towards prioritizing commission to beneficiaries of scholarship.
The desk officer ,it was learnt he implore his stock in trade by compelling benefiting lecturers to part ways with millions or risk their sponsorship, the commissions according to competent source normally comes after Diamond bank has paid money into individual accounts of beneficiaries.
Benbella who was among the present beneficiaries has to refund his money as it was learnt that he jettisoned his foreign voyage, Allegations are coming from all angles over the way and manner he runs the affairs of Tetfund and the College as his personal property.

Some cabals that dragged the former acting provost back to class still remained and perpetrate their heinous crime in the State College of Education, Pundits revealed that the cabals are still having a field day, as they are draining the school of her hard earned resource, a competent source said the current provost is a globetrotter.
