Cholera Outbreak In Nasarawa State, One Dead, 19 Hospitalised By Rabiu Omaku

A Cholera outbreak in Umaisha Community of Toto Local Government of Nasarawa State has killed one person while 19 are hospitalised.
According to an unconfirmed source no attention has been given to the victims. Habiba a relative to the deceased said some victims were on admission at a private health center.
Meanwhile when contacted the Hon. Commissioner for Health, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe said that they are still carrying out investigation to know if it is diarrhea or Cholera, but according to him he said five persons  has been discharged while one person is dead.
“One person died on his way to the hospital, five persons had since been discharged,” said Hon. Akabe.
Dr. Akabe opined that a response team has since been deployed to the area to avoid the spread of the disease which he averred that he is yet to confirm which disease it is.”
“Our team are yet confirm whether it is diarrhoea or Cholera,” Hon. Emmanuel Akabe said.
