Nineteenth (19),Northern Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev.Dr Yakubu Pam has pledged his unalloyed peace mission to end farmers/herders conflict and violence attack on one another in the North through dialogue.
Rev Pam made this known in an interactive session /dinner organize to interface with journalists on the Plateau in Jos.
He commended the Plateau state journalists for their positive reportage and support given him when he was the chairman of CAN, Plateau state chapter.
Yakubu Pam admonished the contributions of media practitioners in projecting both local and international ,says that his minds has been on the path of preaching the gospel of peaceful coexistence amongst the diverse ethnic nationalities in Nigeria .
According to him, if we can’t live in peace with one another, we can’t promote the tenets of democracy ,adding ,a lot evils people have penetrated us with religious and tribals teaching which turn the country upside down but may God Almighty help us with the challenges of farmers ,herders clashes.
He lamented that in most cases people think that the issues of cattle rustling is only Fulani cows that are stolen no the natives too they own cows and they also steal from them .
Dr Pam stressed that the recent stakeholders meeting held with retired pastors, Imam and other religious leaders in the north part of Plateau state especially in Fan, district, Mista Ali Ropp has yielded positive impact in reducing killings.
He pointed out that since the return of democracy Plateau northern senatorial district had suffered a lot in the area of crisis but we should employ tolerance to resolve our differences instance resorting to killing each other.
