Obi Legislative Council has impeached the Council chairman,Hon. Muhammed Iyimoga Oyigye over corruption.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Luka Isiah gave the announcement during a press briefing in Lafia.

The Speaker said eight out of ten councilors signed the impeachment notice.
The accused the impeached chairman of disrupting legislative sitting at Obi while the mase of the legislative Council, according to the Speaker was confiscated by political thugs identified to be a loyalist to Oyigge.
The Speaker further said one of their colleagues was brutalized and admitted at an undisclosed clinic
The chairman shortly in an interview at the Local Government Guest House said he just heard the news about his impeachment.
The chairman, it be recalled was suspended by the Local Government party executives last week following an allegation of anti-party activities. The crisis was not managed by the party executive in the state.
