  • As Residents Raise Alarm Over Involvement Of Foreign Mercenaries
At least 11 persons were again killed in Damboa town, southern part of troubled Borno state in fresh attacks by violent islamist sect, Boko Haram even as residents of some villagers attacked by the insurgents have raised the alarm that some of their attackers were foreign mercenaries.

Multiple sources in Damboa hinted that the insurgents invaded the town on Thursday night, entering houses and killing residents till the early hours of today while the insurgents numbering over 50 equally repelled all attempts by security agents to stop the killings.
Some residents said some of the insurgents who stormed the town in convoy of nine Volkswagen Golf salon cars and motorcycles were aliens speaking foreign languages. With reinforcement from military troops, the attackers were said to have fled towards Yobe and Gombe states.
A member of the Borno State House of Assembly representing Damboa,Hon Ayamu Lawan Gwasha,who confirmed the incident raised the alarm that his constituents are under siege. According to him ”We raised alarm soon after the Sunday’s attack in Konduga where many innocent people were killed. We expressed our fear to the deputy governor of Borno State, Zanna Umar Mustapha who was also proactive in sharing the information with Governor Kashim Shetttima. Relevant security authorities were also alerted. I think this has helped in reducing the magnitude of the attack.”
