Bizzare As Fulani Herdsmen Kill Islamic Cleric Alongside His 12 Year Old Son In Nasarawa State

The people of Bakin Rijiya community of Lafia East Development Area of Nasarawa state were put into mournful mood following the brutal murdered of an Islamic cleric, Mallam Ahmadu Tumba Yakubu, the chief Imam of Angwan Nungu mosque alongside his twelve years old son, Abubakar Ahmadu Tumba by people suspected to be armed Fulani pastoralists.
The two corpses were sighted in a pool of blood with deep matched cuts on Monday last week in his own farmland; an eyewitness said the deceased meet his waterloo at about 4:00pm while preparing to return home after a hard day’s job.
The incident has caused panic amongst the commoners if not the timely intervention of the President Rindre Cultural Development Association (RICUDA) Mallam Ibrahim Usman Dallah who called for calmness and peace.
Pointing out the significance of peace in every society as he prayed for the reposed of late, Mallam Ahmadu and his son and prayed for God to grant the deceased eternal peace.
Ibrahim Usman while addressing the commoners said security agents are investigating the brutal killings, promising that the killers would not escaped the full wrath of the law.
A family member of the deceased, Suleiman Ubandoma,A staff of the Nasarawa State Judiciary told universalreporters247.com that late Mallam Ahmadu Tumba was on his back home after harvesting his yams meet with his assailants.
Ubandoma attested that the deceased alongside his son were axe by people suspected to be Fulani herdsmen who mistaken late Ahmadu Tumba for their victim whom he explained was at logger head with the pastoralist over farm produce.
“Just last month a brother to late Islamic cleric have a serious disagreement with Fulani’s as nomads are grazing cows in his farmland, this spur fracas between the Fulani’s and the family of late Ahmadu “.
It revealed that the volatile Fulani herders pursued their victim with dangerous weapons as he escaped to a safer place, all efforts to speak to the Ardo of Lafia claim abortive as his mobile phone could not be reached as at press time.
The Public Relations Officer Nasarawa state command,Idris Kennedy when contacted on phone agreed to the killings of Mal.Ahmadu Tumba and his 12 year old son, Abubakar Ahmadu.
“We had a reported case of culpable homicide in the last five days and the commissioner of police has given a stringent directive for further investigation into the matter”.
He however opined that nobody was arrested in relation to the murder of father and his son.
