Despite the shift of elections, Bauchi state south senatorial youths has been sensitize on the need against electoral violence as a measure not to repeat the nasty political situation in 2011 that was marred by killings and mayhem
Just as the forum promise to put heads together with all stakeholders including security agencies for a hitch free general election without any rancor among the restive youths
Yosmi Yusuf Diga chairman of the forum made the statement in a seminar/workshop organized for selected youths from Dass, Bogoro and Tafawa-balewa LGAs of Bauchi state aim to create awareness among restive youths against political violence
Diga had lament the security challenges bedevil the axis attributed to political, religious and ethnic difference and blame on lack of leadership and equal representation, yet government has remain adamant
According to the chairman, the decision to organize the workshop is not far from the need to create peaceful political environment especially the youths who are being and shortly abandon by politician with a view to denounce involvement in thuggery
” Our aim is to sensitize the youths in Bauchi south senatorial district towards a peaceful and free of violence during the March elections” said Diga
The forum opine that the youths should use their voters cards to decide in their choice for credible person regardless of any difference than creating civil disturbance throughout the election period
The guests speaker Sulisma Lemuel had said the workshop is time when the country is face with myriad of political challenges to address regarding peaceful election on the need for sensitizing the youths against violence
He had urge the participants not to succumb and intimidated by hungry politician that share similar boundaries with arm robbers in their desperation for power with disregard to the nation supreme constitution in the area of consolidation on the gains of democracy
According to the speaker, youths are the engine room of every sustainable development regretting that same youths are bewitch and converted to engines of destruction by selfish politician
Lemuel therefore charge government to address in indices of youths restiveness as a measure to curb every forms of violence during elections
