Bauchi Police Arrests Two Who Collected N50,000 to Assassinate An individual

The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of    two suspected killers for allegedly kidnapping their victim with the intention of killing him at an agreed amount of Fifty thousand Naira (N50, 000).

A statement issued and signed by the Police Command Public Relations Officer Deputy Superintendent DSP Haruna Mohammed and made available to newsmen at the weekend in Bauchi, said the suspected killer and accomplice were arrested and the victim rescued.

According to the statement, on Saturday October 2015 at about 12 pm, following intelligence report, detectives attached to Striking unit of the Command arrested one Abdullahi Jibrin male and aged 40, of Gulawa village in Toro LGA of Bauchi State.

The statement reads in part   “Suspect abducted one Tahiru Sulaiman male, who is 30 years old, of Nabordo Village under false pretense that he was a member of a vigilante group and took him to unknown destination with intent to eliminate him”

It stated that “Preliminary investigation further led to the arrest of one Ahmadu Mohammed male and 25 years of Zaranda Village who allegedly hired the Suspect to Kidnap and kill the Victim at an agreed amount of Fifty thousand Naira (N50, 000) out of which Five Thousand Naira was given to the Suspect as advance payment.

The police statement said scene of crime was visited and the following exhibits were recovered, One Red Boxer Motorcycle, One Cutlass.

The statement disclosed that the victim was rescued and two suspects arrested including the principal offender. They are assisting the police investigation for useful information that could uncover their motives after which they will be charge to court for prosecution.
