Bauchi state police command has said the command has arrested about nine suspected hoodlums for allegedly stoning President Jonathan convoy shortly after presidential rally in the state
This was contain in a press statement made available to universal reporters through DSP Mohammed Haruna the command spokesman and it describe the hoodlum as a disgrace to the nascent democracy
“A group of miscreants went on rampage in some parts of Bauchi Town inciting disturbance of public peace and a Combined Security Forces comprising the Police, Army and other Sister services rushed to the scene, dispersed the hoodlums and restored normalcy in the affected Areas” said Haruna
The command added the Patrols are being intensified within and outside the town while investigation is on progress to ascertain the actual cause of violence to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Meanwhile, there was a fatal motor vehicles accident involving a Convoy of Gombe State Governor along Bauchi Gombe Federal highway in Alkareri LGA. As a result, three Hummer Buses and a Motor cycle were gutted by fire.
The Accident claimed Fourteen lives who were burnt beyond recognition. Police patrol Team attached to Alkaleri Division visited the scene cleared obstruction and evacuated the casualties to Federal Medical Centre,Gombe for medical attention and postmortem examination.
The Command according to the statement will not fold its arm and watch disgruntled elements disrupt public peace in the State.
Haruna therefore caution Groups or individual causing chaos in the State to desist as any breach of Public Peace Will attract severe legal Consequences.
