The Member Representing Jos North-North constituency and Federal House Representatives of Jos North /Bassa , Hon. Ibrahim Baba-Hassan has sought the help of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) intervention to victims of Jos north flood disaster that destroyed lives and properties worth millions of Naira.
He said the flood which had ravaged houses; properties and farmlands left many families in dire need of assistance from the federal and state governments to help cushion the effect.
Baba-Hassan made this known in an interview with our medium while speaking on the magnitude of destruction caused by the residents of his constituency.
According to him, the gesture had continued to bring hardship to poor, vulnerable women and traders in Jos north-north constituency and as a member, I had a serious concern to support the victims with foodstuffs.
Hon Ibrahim Baba-Hassan disclosed that he is targeting over 5,000 women for the empowerment of both Christians and Muslims in Jos North/Bassa federal constituency.
He stated that on Wednesday last week he embarked on phase 2 of empowerment where over 1,500 women received 10,000.00 interventions to support their small-scale businesses.
In still maintained that in the second phase at least no fewer than 200 women and 159 of the poorest of poorest were given 10,000.00 each as sources of income generation to boost the financial family support, he said.
Hon Ibrahim Baba-Hassan is calling on spirited individuals to come to the rescue of his constituency owning their present suffering as a result of flooding where houses and properties are washed away.
He solicited the cooperation of all and sundry to support those that their homes and source of income are affected, we should be our brother’s keeper under the dwindling economic situation.
