Arraignment Of Ex-Gov. Dariye Father’s Suspected Killers Failed, As One Escaped During Jailbreak

A Plateau State High Court sitting in Plateau on Wednesday has failed to arraign the suspected killers of the ex-Governor Dariye’s father Dariye Dafwan, as one of the suspects escaped during the jailbreak saga.
However, all the suspects were scheduled to be arraigned and charged to court on completion of investigations, but one of them escaped during the jailbreak.
When the matter was brought up in the court on the 8th December 2021 for the culprits to be arraigned before justice Geoffrey Kamyal for an offense of abductors in June 2020, having after demanded N10 million ransom that was paid to them, where they later killed, the matter was stalled owing to nonappearance of the suspects who has escaped during the recent jailbreak in Jos.
The culprits were under thorough investigation from the Nigeria Police Force after the recovery of the victim’s body whose son is currently serving a jail term in the Kuje correctional facility over corruption.
“After a protracted negotiation, a ransom of 10 million Naira was paid to these kidnappers.
“Rather than let the innocent old man go home, the kidnappers, in addition to the trauma they made Pa Dariye go through, in addition to the extortion of N10 million that they had successfully executed, went on to murder Pa Dariye in cold blood”.
The eight (8) notorious high-profile kidnapping suspects indicted by investigations for abduction and eventual murder of Pa Dariye Dafwan, the late father of former Governor of Plateau State, in Horop community, Bokkos LGA of Plateau State. Pa Dariye was abducted on 17th June 2020, and shot dead eight (8) days after the criminals (had) collected a ransom of ten (10) million Naira from the family of the deceased. The arrest of the suspects follows unrelenting efforts by the Police to ensure perpetrators of the dastardly act are arrested and made to face the wrath of the law.
One Abubakar Mohammed a.k.a Buba ‘m’ 23 years, a native of Gada Biyu in Daffo district, Bokkos LGA, Plateau State. Buba is one of the principal suspects in the kidnap operation has escaped during the onslaught that many prisoners, including a warden officer, gunned down, as he is at large.
The seven (7) members of the syndicate – Ya’u Saidu aka Ya’u Kaban m’ 40yrs, from Kaban Village, Bokkos LGA, Plateau State, Titus Ezekiel 34yrs from Horop, Bokkos LGA, Dauda Isah ‘m’ 30yrs, from Horop, Sunday Ibrahim m’ 35yrs, Mushere tribe from Horop, Mangut Shumwar ‘m’ 30yrs, from Horop, Henry Amos ‘m’ 35yrs native of Horop, and Jethro Ngusen ‘m’ 57yrs, a native of Horop all were in court at the west of mime.
Mr. Jethro Ngusen, the mastermind, and convener of the gang, that instructed one of the gang members, Mangut Shumwar to kill Pa Dariye, were all in court but they has to undergo fresh charges.
