The Nigeria Army did a gallant job on Thursday, when some of its officers engaged some armed robbers in a shootout and killed three armed suspects along Raga Udubo road in Gamawa Local Government Area of Bauchi state.
The Sector 3 Commander of the 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi Major Suleiman Asuku Yakubu, while addressing Newsmen in Bauchi, said apart from the suspects killed during the fierce gun battle, some of the suspects, escape with bullets wounds.
He said “Following a tip off received from our sources by the sector 3 of 33 artillery Brigade Bauchi operating in Azare area, Thursday morning by 2 am, we move to the spot area at Raga Udubu road in Gamawa Local Government Area and engage the bandits”
“We exchange fire with the arm robbers whom suspected to be cattle rustlers in a bit to robbed innocent citizens during the encounter three suspects were killed others have fled with injuries, items recovered includes 3 AK 47 rifles, 4 magazines, 147 rounds of ammunition 7.630 mm special, N294.730 and 3 cutlass ”
Mr Suleiman said this in their efforts to stamp the criminal activities such as like insurgency, robbery, Cattle rustling kidnapping in the North East ,he said “the is firm on it stand to bring to an end such activities”
Major Yakubu, however commended the Anti Robbery leader in the Country, Alhaji Ali Kwara for given them all the necessary support to succeed in the operations and the urged the general public to rendered same support by providing useful information to the authorities.
