The recent All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial primaries conducted in  Anambra state has been described as regrettable and a mockery to Nigeria democracy by one of the delegates who see  Hon Andy Uba victory as a threat to the APC.

A frontline politician and a Jos based businessman, Chief Uche Anulukor said the conduct of the congress election of the APC in Anambra State was not the true reflection of what really happened, but a total dissatisfaction from stakeholders which might affect the governorship poll if urgent steps are not taken by the APC extraordinary chairman of the party.

According to him, the exercise was characterized by rigging, stocking ballot papers where the entire results were thumb printed outside the venue with all the delegates ready to cast their votes in a disappointed manner.

He lamented that based on what transpired at the primaries, it was seen as a period for mourning in Anambra state APC members were they have threatened to decamp to the opposition PDP if Andy Uba would remain the flag-bearer of the APC in Anambra forthcoming election.

Chief Anulukor revealed that with the imposition of Andy Uba as APC candidate the delegates will be left with no other option than to rally support for the PDP, however, it was such a confusing situation that we are calling for a fresh conduct of primaries in Anambra state to rewrite history rather turn aggrieved members toward massive defection.

He disclosed that as an ardent supporter of the APC in Anambra state he vows to resist any attempt to impose an unpopular candidate because of how they were robbed of the APC choice by disenfranchising them as delegates.

“Prior to the voting exercise, the head of the national delegation had addressed delegates on the previous evening by assuring them that the exercise for accreditation would commence the next day Saturday at 10 am prompt and that voting thereafter “, he added.

Chief Uche expressed regret that surprisingly, on election day, they waited at their various wards from morning to about 4 pm without seeing the APC officials or election materials for them to vote.

He raised concerns that unknown to them that few thugs were kept inside one hotel thumb printing fake results which were presented as APC victory as Andy Uba emerged winner of the poll that no delegates participated in the primaries.

However, with the dissatisfaction from the outcome of the primaries delegates protested for further inquiry and they realized that it was a single person who perfected the rigging for Senator Andy Uba who masterminded the charade called primaries election in Anambra state APC.

Chief Uche accused election officials of collecting bribes to declared Sen. Andy Uba as APC winner of the primaries blaming the Governor of Ogun state for submitting himself so low to be used in causing a crisis in Anambra state APC members.

He maintained that, with ugly development, we all finger him as the worst when he had the audacity to pronounced the primaries results knowing the exercise never took place, we are so disappointed in the absence of democracy under the APC government.

Chief Uche appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari and that of the National caretaker committee of the APC led by the Governor of Yobe state Hon Mai-Mala Buni as well as the minister of Labour, Dr. Chris Ngige to intervene over leadership tussle in the APC primaries in Anambra state before the situation escalates into the APC losing supporters.

We all pray for intervention or else we foresee mass defection, we urge them not to allow some few individuals not to destroy our party which we have laboured to build with our desire to win.

They describe Senator Andy Uba as an opportunist, Uche challenges that for some of them who know him he is not a party man , rather a political destroyer,he was in PDP we all know him as Obasanjo boy.

When the PDP lost grip of power, Andy Uba found his way into APC and if APC loses power today, Uba will return back because he is a double face politician where his personal interest superseded public interest.

Chief Uche frowned that since his days in the PDP Uba has been tormenting trouble, but we assure him that he is going face stiff resistance from us the APC chieftains.

He appealed to the president as the father of the APC to save the primaries by ensuring the right person emerges in a free and fair election, saying, the like of Andy Uba shouldn’t be allowed to come and cause confusion by destroying the legacy of PMB.

In Anambra state APC primaries, Uche called on the Chairman of Nigeria governor forum, and the Chairman of Northern Governors forum Barr Simon Bako Lalong to cautioned the actors of the primaries in Anambra state to order and prevent a further crisis that may bridge the peaceful coexistence in the state.

Uche stressed that in the aftermath of the primaries some of the aspirants were at the Bon hotel where they address a press conference to condemn in its totality that primaries didn’t take place in Anambra state but what they all witnessed was the disenfranchisement of delegates from performing their civil responsibility of voting for candidates of their choice.

The High Chief, John Bosco Onunkwo who has contributed enough to attract the youths to join APC membership in Anambra state were not considered as a credible candidate for free and fair election but the electoral committee truncated the primaries.

Based on the popular candidate, John Bosco remains the APC aspirant with opinion votes in Anambra state when it comes to the choice of the youth, he explains.

They have warned that democracy is not thuggery so people should be allowed to vote for the leader of their choice, not impunity, imposition we are seeing now, Uche said.
