Two parallel chairmen have emerged at the ongoing nationwide congress at the Bauchi State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress which took place in Bauchi.

Hon Babayo Aliyu Misau and Sunusi Aliyu Kunde both from Misau LGA have emerged as factional leaders of the party in the State.

The emergence of the two parallel leaders followed some political gobbledygook and dissatisfaction from some aggrieved members who were not happy with the initial arrangement.

The initial arrangements among some party stalwart were to concede for Hon. Babayo Aliyu Misau who is seen to have tapped Adamu Adamu’ blessings to via for the position.

Babayo, it appears, also has the backing of the immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara.

The decision of the party stakeholders to concede the chairmanship position did not go down well with many members.

For Instance, Hon. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, current Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Germany was not satisfied with Dogara and Adamu’s anointed candidate.

Many sources who spoke said Tuggar was irked by the decision, hence decided to convene another congress at Zaranda Hotel to “Where Sunusi Aliyu Kunde also from Misau was elected Chairman.”

The drama started when “some members of the party who initially wanted the incumbent Chairman Uba Ahmed Nana to re-contest were denied vehemently; that objection also contributed to tearing the party apart”, a stalwart of the party who pleaded anonymity said.

Several calls and text messages put to Uba Nana, the incumbent Chairman were ignored.
