A political Forum in Nasarawa state, The Progressives Forum for Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has formally endorsed the candidature of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to contest for the number one seat of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The convener of the event which held in Lafia recently,
Honorable Makpa Malla described the two time governor of Nasarawa state and the current Senator representing Nasarawa South Senatorial zone as a nationalist and a bridge builder
The former member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly described Al-Makura as an institution whose legacies and achievements in leadership are worthy of replication on a wider scale.
Makpa Malla disclosed this during a press conference held in Lafia, he explained that the party in the state received the acceptance of Al-Makura to contest for the Chairmanship with untold excitement by throwing their hat in support of his candidature.
The convener attested that the former senator left indelible marks in the sands of Nasarawa state, saying the decision was in tandem with the clarion call of the forum pressurizing incumbent Senator to contest for the Chairmanship position of the APC stating that Al-Makura nurtured the party from the cradle.
“Our resolved to endorse Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura for this national assignment is a step we are taking today is aimed at leaving no one in doubt anywhere in the country, that Nasarawa state is rock solid and adamantly poised at standing by her worthy son”.
Makpa Malla said Al-Makura’s candidature is a sign of a good thing to come in 2023 to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Calling on members of the national convention of the party to beam their searchlight on the zoning of the National Chairmanship to North-central zone.
