APC Aspirant In Jigawa Faults Direct Primary Election Process

The  direct primary election process adopted by the national leadership of the APC have been faulted by the special adviser on inter-governmental affairs to Jigawa state governor, Barrister Kaloma Dahiru  Mustapha, saying there is no enough time to make it work.

Barrister Kaloma Dahiru Mustapha made this observation while interacting with our reporter yesterday noted that the direct primary election would have been the best if the party leadership has adopted it six months back.

” If the APC party leadership had adopted this system of election six months ago, by now that party membership register would have been updated and members will be given secured party membership card to particulate in the party primaries. But as it is now, party registers can be forged and abused’.’

“As it is now, many states will have problem because of the recent cases of deflection. Those who have left the party with their political leaders can be hired to participate in the party primary election. Even the party membership register can be alternated and it could led to serious crisis within the party’.

Barrister Mustapha who disclosed that he want to contest for the Babura/Gatki federal constituency in the for coming general elections, said direct primary election may led to serious crisis that would affect the party’.

He then called on the party leadership to consider the negative effects of the direct primaries and adopt the delegate primaries so the party is not allowed to rig into party crisis.

The barrister who dedicated his monthly salary as a special adviser to his trust fund for three years now, said he had saved over N20million naira, the will be used to assist youths and women in his constituency.

He disclosed that so far, the fund has been used to empower 440 small scale traders across the 22wards with N5,000 and N10,000 naira respectively, 20 physically challenge persons were given wheel chairs and cash to trade stressing so far N5million has been used to assist people in his constituency.
