An Internally displaced Mother Dumped A One Day Old Baby At An Unknown Destination By Tom Garba, Yola
The effect of Boko Haram insurgency in Adamawa state has cause serious social menace in the lives of many internally displaced persons, IDPs.
A good Samaritan, Ramatu Adamu created a scene at Bachure a settlement close to Army Barracks in Yola yesterday of how a young IDP woman whom she extended a hand of love from Madagali LGA,Wuzunti Laraba gave birth to a bouncing baby Boy which Mrs Ramatu was not having the fore knowledge of Labara’s pregnancy only to realised a screaming of labour by Labara on that fateful night around 11:30pm (Wednesday)
Being an experience woman Ramatu help in making sure a she has a safe delivery, immediately the Baby is out the mother (Laraba) strangled the neck of the newly born baby in an attempt to murder him. It took extra strength from wuzuntu to safe the like of the baby from her mother.
The following morning Labara was not where to be found only to discovered by her helper she has packed all she has in that House leaving a letter that she has left to where she cannot be reached hence she fail to understand why she needed to terminate the life of the baby.
It was at this point Mrs Ramatu Adamu came out in the street of Bachure shouting and crying for who will help her as goodness she extended to somebody that needed help has turned to be a course to her
“Somebody should help, is it bad to be good? Where do I go? Where do I start? Come oh! Come and help me?” She cried
There and then an ASP woman who do not want her name to be published confined on our correspondent that she need the baby which she has been looking for the opportunity for long after many years of barrenness
The investigation done by our reporter revealed that, the host of Labara does not know of the culprit origin and who is even responsible for the pregnancy.
In recent times there are so many social menace linked to the activities of Boko Haram which badly affects the social life of so many IDPs in Adamawa state.
