Less than 24 hours aftermath of the successful burial ceremony of the beloved mother of the 2019 Imo Guber Candidate, Chief Ugwumba Uche Nwosu’s mother’s burial, late Deaconess Jemaimah Adaeze Nwosu, the authority of the Imo State House of Assembly, IMHA, led by the Speaker, Rt.Hon.Kennedy Ibeh, has strictly suspended 3 lawmakers for allegedly visited the burial ceremony held at Eziama Obire Community in Nkwerre LGA of Imo State.
Information had disclosed that one (1) seat out of the 27 IMHA Members was also vacated.
Three members of the state house who received the arrow of suspension includes:” Hon. Obinna Okwara, representing Nkwerre,
Hon. Ngozi Obiefule, representing Isu and Hon. Arthur Egwim, representing Ideato-North, whereas the seat of the lawmaker representing Ngor-Okpala, Hon. Tochi Okere, was angrily declared vacant by the Speaker.
It could be recalled that the Imo State Governor, Sen.Hope Uzodinma, supposedly gave the instructions that no government functionary or state house member should attend the burial.
Their suspension commence on Thursday, Dec.23rd 2021 with immediate effect as signed by the Speaker of the house, Rt.Hon.Barr.Kennedy Ibeh.
Note that some other reason given was that when “Governor Uzodinma presented the 2022 budget, all the members the 9th House promised to give it an accelerated hearing but surprisingly, those affected lawmakers obviously ignored to participate in the sitting and the speaker was angry with their action, therefore they were suspended.”
