ADC Clears Richard Ponkap, Confirm Him As Guber Flag Bearer

The Chairman of African Democratic Congress, ADC, Plateau state chapter  , Hon  Ibrahim Sabiu Musa has confirmed  Engr  Dr. Richard Ponkap as the governorship candidate and the only screened gubernatorial aspirant in the primaries conducted and recognize as the flag bearer of the party in 2019 polls.

 

In an interview with our correspondent on Phone over the crisis rocking the ADC in Plateau state, he disowned Joseph Bitrus who claimed to be the ADC candidate.

 

Sabiu Musa explained further that, Joseph Bitrus has never been their member and he didn’t participate in the just concluded primaries of the state chapter of the party which Richard ponkap emerged as the sole candidate of governorship race.

 

The party conducted a hitch-free primaries election where  INEC officials, security and media came and witnessed the exercise, so we are calling on supporters of ADC to remain focus and be committed towards the party’s victory at the poll, he said.

 

Musa commended the National Chairman, Chief Rauf Nwosu and the national secretary, Alh Babasaidu Abdullahi for resolving the crises amicably to pave way for the party landslide victory.

 

He condemned in its totality what brought about confrontation, impunity, and the imposition of candidate that almost weakened the party structure in a state but since they have come out with a solution that is the best in the promotion of democracy.

 

Musa emphasized the state chapter is working very hard to deliver a credible candidate to the people of Plateau devoid of religious and tribal agenda, adding that Engr Dr. Richard Ponkap is a transparent leader that is tested and trusted.

 

He, however, stressed that the exco threw their unalloyed support to the party leadership and promise to remain committed to Richard Ponkap as the candidate of ADC in Plateau state.

 

Meanwhile, the governorship candidate, Dr. Richard Ponkap applauded his supporters for standing to support his candidature in the forthcoming general election.
