Umaru enjoined workers as well as other citizens of government continued efforts to enhance their welfare and enhance infrastructural for development across the state.
The governor, who stated this during sallah homage paid to him at the Banquet Hall of the government house in Yola, explained that arrears for various categories of workers would be settled soon by the state government.
According to him a committee would be put in place to ascertain the actual number of workers and amounts required for the payment of arrears owed civil servants in the state.
While urging the civil servants to remain dedicated and supportive of the present administration, the governor assured that hospitals and schools would soon received government attention.
Governor Jibrilla said accountability and transparency would be ensured in the execution of projects across the state, pointing out that the determination of President Mohammadu Buhari in ending insurgency and kidnapping should be complimented by supporting and praying the present administration.
He promised the Christian Association of Nigeria as well as Muslim Council of government response to look into their need of completing their secretariat and decried the level of corruption especially at the local government level, saying it will not be business as usual as his administration is poised to ensure that the people are not short changed.
Various speakers including Deputy Governor, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Chief Judge of the state, Head of civil service, Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress, religious and community leaders as well as voluntary organisations, while facilitating with the governor over the sallah celebration, commended the governor for the effort in improving on the plight of people of the state.
Earlier the governor was hosted to a mini sallah durba at the Lamido’s palace after two racat prayer performed by Kaddi Ahmadu Bobboi.
