Adamawa Assembly Crisis: The Many Dirty Deals Of Suspended Lawmaker Abdulraham Abubakar- Chief Whip Adamawa Assembly

The Adamawa state House of Assembly Chief whip,Hon. Hassan Mamman Barguma has revealed many dirty deals committed by Abdularaham Isa Abubakar the suspended lawmaker representing Mubi south in the state House of Assembly.

The former chairman of House standing committee on information, who granted an interview to journalists in Yola, said that relevant constitution section would be invoked to protect sanity of the nation’s constitution of 100 days sitting requirement by the lawmakers.

Barguma said this in defence of the myriads of lies and unfounded allegations purported against the Governor and 24 lawmakers of the House that led to the suspension of Hon.Abdulraham Abubakar member representing Mubi South.

Hassan continued to lament that the embattled lawmaker out of ignorance went to EFFC alleging that the executive Governor was wrong to go and collect an over draft of 3Billion naira in the Bank to pay salaries in the state without the knowledge of the Honourable House.

“Unknown to him there is a provision that permit the Governor to obtain an overdraft without the knowledge of the Honourable, but if it is a loan the Governor must seek for legislative approval, you can see how ignorance and callous is he.”

According to him the suspended lawmaker has been peddling scandalous and unguided utterances against even the SSG and some Commissioners on grounds of falsehood.

“we are not trying to shield the Governor as legislators in State house of assembly, I said it before and I will still say it, if anyone has any evidence that the Governor is deepening his hand into the coffers of public funds and we fail to do that, he should let us know, it is within our oversight functions to fight the Governor to order” Barguma said

The member representing Hong constituency who itemised the records of dirty deals committed by the embattled lawmaker, mentioned the allegations as follows;

” the suspended lawmaker is demanding money from the Secretary to the state Government (SSG) to give him money if he wants the House of assembly support, threatening contractors to revoke all contracts because he has the virement documents with him if they did not give him 250million naira, he went to the Ministries of Finance and Works demanding bribe if they want cooperation from them.”

While displaying record of their conversation to Journalists over his Telephone line, Abdulrahamn was heard and quoted as saying:

“Why should you remove me as the chairman committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriation? In reply the chief whip said is it why you should be giving false accusations to the people of the state? I swear I must blackmail the whole House if you did not return me so all of us will loss”

Abdulrahaman added that he must make money in the House that’s what he came for, even though at the moment he is enjoying and getting money more than all of them in the House. Beside I have money more than you because I am the chairman Committee on Finance Budget and Appropriation.

The embattled member who to many is a man that known to be fighting corruption base on him being the head of the “integrity group” but base on their telephone conversation he stated that his integrity is only outside the House, in as much he enters the House is no longer an integrity because all of them are bird a feather.

“Is unfortunate we have this kind of lawmaker in our midst this kind of lawmaker who uses his committee to extort people and seek for bribe is not really fit to be called an Honourable lawmaker”.

“I bet you go to any where as far as this House is concern our hands and records are intact, you never ask this question if Isa is right with the kind of opposition we are having, don’t you think he would have gather support from other members to cause much damage? He is just a mere liar who wants cheap popularity”

“I am assuring you in no distant time the truth will be revealed of all the allegations he levelled against us, as you see EFCC has not taken any one of us for interrogations, the law to use against any suspects when found guilty is the same law to be used anybody that takes the issue that does not have truth to EFCC, so Abdulraham should be ready to go to jail because our hands are clean all the time”.
