The Peoples Democratic Party has officially adopted Maurice Vunoboki as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections in Adamawa State.

Vunoboki, a member of the Abdulrahman Mohammad-led faction of the PDP reportedly backed by Nyesom Wike, was unanimously endorsed by party members from all the 21 local government areas of the state.

The adoption took place during the party’s congress held at Ribadu Square, where delegates and stakeholders gathered to formally ratify his emergence as the party’s flag bearer ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Chairman of the electoral committee, Debo Ologunagba, who presided over the exercise, declared Vunoboki as the party’s candidate after a motion for his adoption was moved and unanimously supported by delegates at the congress.

The process was observed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission alongside party stakeholders, who monitored the proceedings.

Speaking earlier, the acting state chairman of the PDP, Belmond Dogo, said party leaders and acting chairmen across the 21 local government areas had agreed to adopt Vunoboki as the sole aspirant after a series of consultations and meetings.

Dogo explained that the congress was convened to formally ratify and publicly announce Vunoboki’s emergence as the PDP governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Adamawa State.
