An  All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart Comrade Asanto Philip Adik who is seeking the mandate for North /West Constituency for the Plateau House of Assembly election has said ,if given the mandate he would represent bill to reduce high infant and maternal deaths arising from transmission of infection and complications at birth.

He disclosed this while inaugurating and presenting coordinators of campaign to flag off his electioneering promises to the electorates.

Adik promised to lobby the government towards providing free medical to women and children across the 17 LGAs in collaboration with non-governmental organization (NGO) in health care delivery that can ensure individual households have access to drugs.

He added this bill would seek to provide a future for our children where skills of different forms could be acquired for self-employment and ultimately, reduce poverty in our state.

If given the mandate,” I also intend to have constant interactive session with traditional and community leaders as well as youth groups to charter a course toward finding lasting solution to crime and criminality in the constituency “, he says.

According to him ,this has become imperative for the fact that we are in precarious moment as our society is wrestling with how best to deal with the darker side of humanity as violence and criminality are seen by our youths as necessary and justify means of resolving issues.

Adik lamented that women and children are the worst affected whenever there is crisis in the state, they have been known to receive the hard end of the stick because they are the vulnerable and prone to being hit the hardest.

He pointed out that many communities in Plateau state have suffered series of attacks and recorded terrible abuses against women and children, women who survived these abuse and atrocity often have to live with the vivid terrifying images of violence for the rest of their lives.
