Hon. Francis Orogu, Nasarawa state chairman of the opposition party, the Peoples’ Democratic Party has queries the state governor over the whereabouts of the N2bn paid to Tongyi Chinese construction firm for the building of International airport at Kwandare , Lafia local government.
Orogu open the can of worms while addressing cross section of Journalists at the end of stakeholders meeting held at the party secretariat along Jos road, the chairman expressed dismay over the disappearance of taxpayers’ money channeled into unproductive project.
“Where is our money, the chairman asked “the PDP scored the All Progressives Congress under the incumbent governor below average in the area of security, workers welfare and physical projects.
He said the APC in the second term only embarked on painting of past projects instead of conceiving new ones ,speaking on the mass Taal Model schools constructed across the state, Orogu described the structures as wastage of resource.
“Which model schools are you talking about, is it the empty edifices without recruiting teachers ? .adding that all existing structures were conceived and completed by PDP,stating that the 500 housing units along Doma road were PDP projects, 10 units VIP Houses, Abdullahi Adamu are all projects of our party.
Commenting on workers/government relationship he rated Al-Makura zero saying the relationship is hypocritical, advising workers to vote out the APC, calling on workers to be mindful of which party to vote.
“No promotion, workers were stagnated for over five years, speaking on the issue of security under the headship of governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, the party chairman scores the APC low,” stating that is God all the way but not the state government that is protecting the masses.
The five members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly elected under the banner of the opposition party in the state are conspicuously absent at the inauguration of the elders, caucus and disciplinary committees.
The members are Hon,Muhammed Muluku, Nasarawa Eggon East, Hon.Godiya Akwashiki,Nasarawa Eggon West, Hon.Muhammed Alkali (PDP) Lafia East Hon.Muhammed Okpede (PDP) Doma North and Hon.Peter Mbucho (PDP) Akwanga North.
Erstwhile Deputy Governor of Nasarawa state, Professor Onje Gye-Wado was inaugurated as a member of the disciplinary committee of the People’s Democratic Party.
Other members are Suleiman Obama, Sadanu Akiri,Patricia Ngargbu and amongst others, the state party chairman, Francis Orogu also inaugurate elders and caucus committee respectively.
The immediate past governor of the state, Aliyu Akwe Doma, Yusuf Agabi, the party flag bearer in 2015 governorship election, the former state party chairman, Chief Yunana Iliya, Sen.Suleiman Adokwe Haruna Kigbu, former member House of representative, Sen.Philip Gyunka made the list of the elders committee.
Others in the elders committee are Hon.Muhammed Ogoshi Onawo, Hon.David Embugadu,Aliyu Wadada, Hon.Gaza, the state chairman of the party among others, the party also announces Akwe Doma, the party chairman, member Board of Trustee of the party, Assembly members, Treasurer, Woman leader as caucus.
Other members of the caucus committee are the former clerk of the House, Salihu Mai Kasuwa,Ogoshi Onawo, former Deputy governors, legal advisers.
