A Kwara State Federal Lawmaker serving under the All Progressive Congress, APC, representing Kwara North constituency , Honorable Ahmed Abubakar Ndakene has been alleged to be involved in certificate forgery and was summoned to appear before Abuja Court for criminal breached of section 88(1) ,89(3) and 109 c of the administrative criminal justice act of 2015 .
The complainant ,Alh Mahmud Hassan Babako in his writ of summon drew the attention of the Federal Capital Territory Judiciary ,Abuja criminals procedure code on his curriculum vitae which is also made available on internet websites including accountablenigeria.org , Ahmed Ndakene, has a B.SC in Economics, 1998, SSCE 1990 and School Leaving Certificate, 1984..
He alleged that the assertion by the federal lawmaker that he has a B.SC in Economics from the premier university, ABU Zaria and added that he must have allegedly forged the documents he possesses.
Babako complained that having realized that lawmaker obtained fake degree certificate, he alleged that Abubakar should have stay away from seeking employment or occupy public office knowing fully well that his father, Alhaji Abubakar Ndakene held strategic appointments at different times.
“You would recalled that,Hon Ahmed Abubakar Ndakene is the House of Rep member representing Edu/Moro/Patigi federal constituency at the house of representatives, Abuja” .
In a court paper dated 3rd of March which was received and stamped by Honorable Ahmed Abubakar Ndakene himself on 20th of March, the court ordered Ndakene to appear in person as a defendant in a criminal suit bordering on certificate forgery and lying under oath pressed against him by one of through indigenes of his constituency.
For quite some times , Honorable Ndakene has been shrouded in certificate forgery controversy since his assumption of office as several Non-governmental organisations from Patigi, Moro and Edu areas have in time past organized several press conferences urging security agencies to beam searchlights on certificates claims of the honorable.
Although the honorable on several instances have debunked such claims noting that it is being orchestrated by his political opponents to distract him . Honorable Ndakene claimed he duly graduated from Ahmadu Bello University and also served his fatherland under a national scheme known as National Youths Service Corps, NYSC
But on the 13th of January, 2020, a group from Kwara north axis known as Due Process Ambassador wrote a press release accusing Ndakene and his supporters of sitting at the Parliament with fake SSCE and fake university certificates.
Parts of their allegations read:
“3. That Ahmed Abubakar Ndakene from his profiles extracted at INEC database lied under the oath of graduating from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria on February 24th ,1998, a position which our investigations to the prestigious University had disclaimed in oughtrightly.
- That he also submitted a forged paper bearing the name of Ahmadu Bello University which he presented as statement of results before INEC officials in order to obtain clearance to participate in the last general elections. Credible findings have also established that this paper did not originate from Ahmadu Bello University , Zaria as falsely claimed by Ndakene and his co travelers
The group further noted that Honorable Ndakene had deceived INEC and Nigerian police that he lost his original copy of SSCE certificate which led to the issuance of Police reports which he fraudently submitted to INEC ib lieu of certificate, the group noted that he did not have any certificate from Kagara High school as he claimed in his forms submitted to inec
- That he paraded a Letter head sheet purported obtained in 1990 from Government Colleges, Kagara , Nigeria State as his School Certificate with Pass(D7) in both English and Mathematics , 5 credits in other subjects and with this claimed to have gotten admission to study Economics at ABU , this is very questionable as prestigious institutions such as ABU would not have offered any candidate admission into such department without passing English and mathematics on credit grade levels .
- That Ndakene in his fraudulent manipulation also obtained one police extracts which he presented to INEC in place of SSCE certificate with a sordid claims that he had lost his original certificate obtained from WASCE in 1990 “
The NGO also urged law enforcement agents to swing into action and investigate these claims so as to unravel the veracity
Whether these claims are true or not are now before the court of law to unravel hidden mysteries surrounding these claims and counter claims so that Kwars public can know which side is speaking the truth.
