A Tribute To An Icon Of Peace Alh Umar  Shuaibu By Barr Bashir Musan-Sati

The  Plateau  State  of the  All Progressive Congress  ,APC,  Barr Bashir Musan-Sati express  deep concern  over the  sudden  death  of a great  Islamic  icon who have  contributed  his life time  building  and promoting the  well-being of humanity.

 

He said the Late Alhaji Umar Shu’aibu who is better known as Alhaji Sabo Shu’aibu was born and brought up in Audi Line of foremost Abba Na Shehu Ward of Jos North Local government area in Plateau state.

 

His father Alhaji Shu’aibu was a renowned Islamic scholar and a comfortable businessman who  trained his children and Alhaji Sabo successful that were  so lucky to have learned the Holy Qur’an and the trading of the father.

 

Coming from that background he was inspired to joined the Jama’atu Nasrul Islam Arabic School where he graduated with Grade 111 certificate which opened up the gate his teaching Muslims  on prophet Mohammed Islamic  disciple. .

 

However with  his interest in western education combined with Islamic education , his quest for knowledge took him back to the same school where he obtained his Grade 11 Teacher’s certificate. Being a  beneficiary of the Jama’atu School, he decided to joined the mother body’s Aid group as a service to the community.

 

Being a member of the Aid group, he sacrificed his life to the development  of community so that  people can see a better tomorrow with the understanding of service to humanity.

 

His personage was woven around people and events, irrespective of their tribes or religious beliefs, attesting to this, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Plateau State chapter wrote about him in its condolence over his dead thus;

 

“CAN Plateau State Chapter received with great shock the sad news of the passing away yesterday of a very dedicated, peaceful, loving, very cheerful and friendly Muslim the CSO of Jos Central Mosque, Alh Sabo Shu’aibu.

 

“Untill his death I had the opportunity to work very closely with him and together we had worked to solve problems that cound have generated crisis in Plateau. May Allah Grant repose to his soul and comfort to the entire Muslims Ummah in Plateau, his family and friends.

 

“Rev Dr Soja Bewarang CAN Chairman Plateau State Chapter.”

 

Tributes are not only made to extol the virtues of excelling individuals, but are to spur the living to emulate such virtues and to further corroborate CAN commendations of late brother Sabo, Honourable Ibrahim Baba Hassan capped the late brother as; “..A LIFER HUMANITARIAN.”

 

“Friday has been yet another difficult day to us, difficult in the sense that one of our own, a complete gentleman per excellence, Alhaji Sabo Shuaibu Umar, ,had reached his termination period.

 

“The late brother, was indeed one of our great compatriot, he had lived meaningful humanitarian selfless services to our community.

 

“His virtues encompasses, tolerance, patience, humility, compassion and dedication to the will of Allah.

 

“It is obvious that the vacuum created by his death, is unquantifiable and irreparable.

 

“Ya Allah, we supplicate that Your rahama and magfira comfort his abode at the grave, may the light of the Qur’an brightens his abode and blessed him with Your Jannah.”

 

Certainly, Alhaji Sabo lived for peace, worked for peace and died on the course of duty saving humanity from the scourge of the dreaded novel Coronavirus, which eventually took his life in order to save the society.

 

Brother your inspirational style of service to humanity and the used of your office as Chief Security officer, CSO, of the Jos Central Mosque in fostering understanding and unity among the people of Plateau State irrespective of their religious or ethnic backgrounds had caused the government of the State under the able leadership of the rescue team leader and Chairman of the Governors forum, His Most Excellent of all the Excellencies, the legal luminary Dr. Simon Bako  Lalong to have you appointed as a member in the committee on the evacuation of Al’majir in Plateau State.

 

Time and space will not be enough for us to write about your life journey but we took solace in the fact that you die on Friday for the Muslims is the best day of the week and in Ramadan which is the best month of the year. May Jannat firddu’s be your resting place. Amin thuma Amin.
