Alleged Drifting Of College Of Agriculture Under Dr.Maikafi Is Baseless And Fictitious-ASUCA Chairman Vindicates Provost

The chairman Academic staff Union of College of Agriculture, Dr.Adah John has described the viral information making round on social media that the College is drifting under the headship of Dr.Yahaya Musa Maikafi as fictitious and baseless.

 

ASUCA chairman hinted this during an interview with selected Journalists, a distance away from the Union from what he referred to as false claims by faceless staff.

 

“If the writers have a better case why don’t they unveiled their identity with all the baseless information cooked to tarnish the image of the Provost”.

 

“On the question, you asked me on whether there was a concerned group in ASUCA, I would not say no because as we increase you know anything can happen”.

 

While reacting over the division in ASUCA as some staff presented themselves for screening exercise contravening the position of the Union, the chairman promised that the three staff that collected forms for screening would be sanction for wrong doing.

 

“Our grievances was for the management to give us our promotion letters before the data capture, screening exercise”

 

He reeled out the disagreements to includes

IPPIS we find ourselves in a terrible situation as allowances were cut-off, Issues of sabbatical, Third-party deduction

 

And as a Union, we presented our template as our condition and  the state government  agreement with it

 

Adah John further explained that the College of Education, Akwanga and Isa Mustapha Agwai 1, Polytechnic, Lafia is already into since August 2020.

 

“Our members went to the House of Assembly to table their complaint about 2019,2020 promotions”.

 

When asked if the management did not meet up to their demands, the chairman buttressed that ASUCA would embark on industrial action.

 

“If the management reneged then, the Union will not guarantee industrial harmony in the College”.

 

While fielding question on the allegation of mass movement of lecturers to other institutions due to the hand-in-glove of the Governing Council chairman to tackle pressing needs of lecturers, Dr. John denied the mass exodus of lecturers.

 

The chairman commended the College management for the bold steps taken towards addressing the ugly situation.
