275 Rescued Women To Receive Psycho Socio Support From America By Tom Garba, Yola

nigeria-idp-reliefThe United States Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle has assured that the United States of America will assist in the provision of psycho socio support to 275 women and children rescued from the evil Sambisa forest.

Entwistle made this known when he paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Adamawa state, Bala James Ngilari at the Government House in Yola.

“I am in Yola to attend the commencement ceremony of the American University of Nigeria but as a hobby is my duty to  visit the Internally Displaced Persons whenever I comes around”. He said

He described the situation of the IDPs as pathetic and worrisome that urgent support shall be given unto the rescue women and children to make up their psychology in-balance.

James said the support by the U.S. is not only for Adamawa, but the entire northeast of the country devastated by insurgency attacks.

The U.S. Ambassador added that the United States of America is heavily engaged the U.S. Agency for International Development in reconstruction and rehabilitation of the IDPs in the northeast part of the country.

According to him, what is before the government and the international donor agencies is a big challenge of reconstruction and rehabilitation, creating environment so that the victims of insurgency can go back home.

Ambassador James commended the Adamawa Peace Initiative for living up to the expectations of the public.

Responding Governor Bala James Nggilari thanked the U.S. Ambassador for visiting the IDPs to see things for himself and commended international donor agencies for the support rendering to the IDPs.

The governor asked for more support towards rehabilitating the victims of the insurgency, as according to him, the victims require psycho-social rehabilitation.

He thanked the U.S. for its support during Nigeria’s elections.
